My biography - Chris Matthews
I’m a Green Badge Guide, qualified as a regional specialist for both Orkney and the North Highlands of Scotland by the Scottish Tourist Guide Association. I am a member of the Orkney Tourist Guide Association and the Highlands of Scotland Tour Guide Association.
I have lived in Orkney for over 40 years getting very involved in many aspects of community life whilst and bringing up my four children here. I worked in environmental protection before changing direction and deciding to become a guide. I’m ideally placed to offer you tours of our beautiful and historic islands.
I own my own fully licenced and insured car, which comfortably seats four adults and two children. During your tour I’ll regale you with tales and anecdotes from the islands, giving you an insight into Orkney’s history and culture. You’ll see our stunning landscape and wildlife along the way and we may also sample the local cuisine. I’m happy to join you in your own car or coach if that’s your preference.

I have many flexible packages to suit your personal requirements. Be you a lone traveller looking to soak up the peace and grab that perfect Insta' photo, a budding archaeologist or a boisterous family I can build you a tour to suits all your needs. We will discuss and tweak your itinerary until you are happy. If you wish I can book all tickets and food stops in advance so you really have nothing to worry about.
